Goodbye Purple Flurp!

This van has carried us from Seattle, to Washington D.C.,to Orlando, to San Diego. We sold it tonight (I have the cash in my pocket). It is time to upgrade. .. .well as least to a newer van, and begin some new travels!

Copy Cats

All the girls like to have their hair done alike. If Kennedy wants hot curlers, they all do. Yesterday they all had braids, today it is ponytails. No one wants to be left out.

Jog a Thon

The annual Jog a Thon was held at the school on Friday. I went and helped in Kennedy's class, marking laps, etc. Luckily it was a sunny day. Kennedy went 25 laps. Not too bad.

What happens when Mom and Dad aren't watching. . .

Enough Said. . . Isn't Mia beautiful?

waiting for surgery

David had surgery on his knee yesterday afternoon. It only took about 2 1/2 hours from the time we checked in until we left. There was a park nearby that the girls and I killed some time at while David was in surgery. The surgery went well.. ..

All set

I registered Elizabeth for Kindergarten a couple of weeks ago, and ever since she has been bugging me to make her a doctor appointment so she can get her shots and be all set for school. What five year old asks to go get shots? Well we went today, and she didn't cry when the needle was brought out, in fact only a very slight wimper. Very brave girl. She is all ready to start kindergarten in the fall.

Shopping joys

  • Ok
  • So this is why I have an empty refrigerator and bare cupboards. I drop Elizabeth off at preschool and decide to make a quick run to the store for a few essentials.
  • I only have Mia, it shouldn't be too bad.
  • I stop in the frozen food area because my phone rings. While I am on the phone, Mia spots the popsicles and decides she wants them. She pulls them out and puts them in the cart. I take them out of the cart, she screams and rolls around on the floor.
  • I am still on the phone, trying to talk to my brother in law about a house project .
  • She pulls the popsicles out again and puts them in the cart. (she won't stay in the seat) I take them out of the cart and put them away. Tantrum number 2, more floor rolling and screaming.
  • I am finished with my call at this point and head to the register. Check out goes somewhat smoothly thanks to a "stranger"(this will always keep her quiet, I need to shop with a "stranger" from now on) talking to Mia and keeping her quiet.
  • As we walk out I ask her if she is ready to go. She has her hands behind her back as we walk out. I find a pack of gum in her hands.
  • My daughter, the shop lifter!
  • Again, this is a minor trip to the store. This is why I hate grocery shopping. Thank goodness this trip was only ten minutes long!
