Saying goodbye

We had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa here over the weekend. Kenendy was moping around last night trying to get them to stay a little longer. .. .but we really enjoyed the visit. The kids got to go see Horton Hears a Who after school yesterday and we enjoyed our evening out on Saturday. The Hale Center Theatre does a fantastic job with their productions. David didn't particularly care for the play, but Mom and Dad really enjoyed it, and I thought they did a really nice job as well. We've had sunshine over the past several days, so we can't complain. Mia even started to warm up to Grandpa by the end of the weekend. She would bring him a pile of books then climb up on his lap for him to read to her. She even gave him a kiss good bye today! That is saying a lot from her. She was very quiet and didn't talk much this weekend. .. I could get used to that! We love you Grandma and Grandpa, see you soon, and have a great time California with the Eberle's.

Easter dinner crowd

We had quite a crowd over for Easter dinner. There was an incredible amount of good food, we played games and had a great time.

Easter Sunday

All ready for church this morning. This kids sang "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" in Sacrament meeting and did a great job.

Happy Easter to Everyone! By the smiles you can see the kids are having a great time, and got waayyy to much candy! But that is my fault, I suppose.

evening out

Mom and Dad are here visiting and we were able to go out yesterday and go to a play and then dinner. We went to the musical "The Civil War" and then went to The Good Wood Barbeque for dinner. We had a good time. Mom wouldn't let me post the picture of her and Dad. . . .

wall mount

Saturday evening, David and his brother Jeff took the time to finally hang our tv up on the mount to the wall. It actually was quite a project. They opened up the wall so the wires would be tucked away, and discovered that there is NO insulation between the wood and the outside foundation! No wonder our basement is always so cold! We didn't have time to go get anything, but wanted to do something about it while it was exposed and our sister in law suggested stuffing it with newspaper. So half the wall is now insulated with newspaper. We need to open up the other half and do the same thing.. . .but neither one of us seem to want to get it started. Maybe half an insulated room will make a difference? But anyway, the tv looks really nice up on the wall.

Milestone

My workout schedule varies at the gym. I get up really early a couple days a week, sometimes go in the day, etc. I regularly go Wednesday mornings while Elizabeth is at preschool. That way I just have to schedule day care for Mia. (Don't get me started on trying to schedule day care. ... you have to call a week ahead of time, right when they open and keep calling until you get through. .. it is a pain. .. if you wait an hour, it is too late and you are on a waiting list). But back to my story. .. Mia hates the day care. She cries and cries when I drop her off, sometimes starting as soon as we pull into the parking lot. I go to pick her up and one of the ladies has had to hold her the whole time. I am a mean Mom and keep taking her, because I am determined to get my workout in. Today before we left, she told me, "I want to stay home, Mom." Talk about breaking my heart. I don't give in, and take her anyway. We get there, I check her in. .. and to my amazement, she walks right in. Not a tear, whimper, or a backward glance. When I came to pick her up, she was glad to see me and ran over. I hope this is a regular occurance. Definitely a milestone for Mia. Going to daycare without crying.

St George Getaway

David came home from work on Tuesday and stated that he was taking the rest of the week off and that we should get away for a couple days. We were able to get a place in St George and went down to enjoy the sunshine for a couple days. We took the kids out of school, dropped everything, and left! I don't regret it. .. it was wonderful.
We had some reading time. David and I both completed the book we brought with us.
The kids enjoyed the park right ourside the door of the condo. I saw this sign in the parking lot at the grocery store. Only in Utah! I thought it was funny, and had to snap a photo.
