uh. . . thanks

David just finished up another basketball season, coaching the 9th grade girls team. They had a pretty decent year. . . . won some and lost a few as well! But I think they had a fun season overall. They had their team dinner and awards last night. After David got home, around ten last night we heard a noise and looked outside to find this:
My good friend, Heidi, loves to tp people . . . .and obviously has passed this on to Alli (her daughter. . . who was on the team this year). So Heidi brought over several players from the team, and they got our house pretty good. When we picked it up this morning, the toilet paper filled up half the garbage can! I guess at least they left a "love note". Uh. . . thanks Heidi!
On to other subjects. . .
Luke finished up his basketball season this morning. It was a bit of a rough season. . . several really hard losses. But his team ended on a positive note with a win today. He grew quite a bit as a player, and aside from some frustrating blow out losses, had a good time. He had 5 points today, one of them a three pointer.
And totally random. .. .this is what I found walking around in our back yard today. . . where the heck did this come from??

Valentine treats/dance

The kids and I made cupcakes and decorated them with some candy hearts for valentines yesterday. I let each of the kids eat one, and then took the rest of them to the church for our ward dance. And it was quite the dance! We had a big band there that played some really good "oldies" type music. All the kids had a great time dancing, and David and I even tried doing the cha-cha!

Mia isn't sure she likes dancing with Elizabeth!
Kennedy and Hunter. What a cute little couple!
Luke was pretty good at asking several girls in the ward to dance, including his mom, and his sister Kennedy. He said he danced with 8 different girls! Pretty impressive. There was a lady in the ward that said she would give the boys a candy bar for every girl they asked to dance. I guess Luke earned his.
Elizabeth Swinging away with Bryce.
David and Mia. David got out there with all his girls and showed some moves!
Here we are. Why can't we ever get a normal picture of the two of us? I guess Elizabeth was upset that Kennedy took her man! (hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come) But you can also see the big band in the background. They were actually pretty incredible. We had a fun night.

a little at a time. . .

That has been my motto starting the beginning of January. I have so many house projects that have been in need of being done since we bought this house (over 5 years ago now!). So in order to get myselft to do them, I am not over whelming myself and just doing a little at a time. I don't make myself work every day. My goal has actually been to work once a week for a couple hours. Once I got going, I actually worked a little more than once a week. Of course we started with our closet, which I posted earlier. This is the rest of my progress for January.
I finally painted our bedroom. I am going with pretty basic colors. . . beige with white trim. I painted the closet doors, ceiling, bedroom door, bathroom door, etc. This is my favorite spot now adays. David got this chair for me for my birthday. It is oh so comfy. I just need a nice reading lamp now. This is my new bed set I got. I picked it out and was a little worried David may not like the flowers, but he didn't seem to care at all. I really like the blue, beige and dark brown. david finally placed the tiles for our window in the bathroom. We did most of this project last spring, but we tend to get projects MOST of the way done and not finish them. So I am determined to get them completed! He still needs to grout and seal it, but one step at a time it gets done! David also finished putting up the trim in the hallway and bathroom. This is the hall bathroom, or the girls bathroom. The old towel rack fell down, and I could just imagine it sitting there for months, waiting to be repaired, so I took matters into my own hands. I got these cool hooks and put them up, so each of the girls have their very own. I also painted the bathroom on the same day.

Here are Elizabeth and Mia helping with a little painting. This is the door to their bathroom. We painted that last week.

So that is it. I will continue with the painting this month. And anyone who knows me, knows how I HATE painting, but I am determined that a little bit at a time will make a difference! So into the hall way and then the living room, doorway, etc. I will not get overwhelmend, I will not get overwhelmed. And also the fun part will be picking out new carpet for our bedroom. The carpet it disgusting and I am so excited to replace it! until the next report. . .
