Mini Society

And the end of the year activities continue .. . Today it was Mini Society at the School. The fifth and sixth graders set up booths selling all kinds of things. Candy, pop, cotton candy, face painting, hair spraying, popsicles, ice cream, video game playing, ball throwing, slushies, etc. You get the idea. It really had the feel of a little carnival. The rest of the school and parents get "dollars" to spend at the booths. I walked over with Elizabeth and Mia to check it out. We had a lot of fun. Luke sold candy and other knick knacks at his booth.

Mia showing me her ice cream.

Elizabeth getting a cup ready to plant a flower. She decorated the cup then filled it with dirt and a seed.

Elizabeth on the walk home. You can see her hair sprayed, face paint, flower necklace, and cotton candy residue all over her face. Do you think she had a good time?

Dance Festival

Being the end of the school year, I seem to be blogging more than usual since there are so many various activities going on . Yesterday it was a dance festival at the Elementary school. Each grade performed a dance out on the field and then the whole school sang a song at the end. The second grade did a parachute dance, and the fifth grade boys did the haaka (sp?), a Pacific Island war dance. It was fun to watch. So fun that I went in the morning, and then again in the afternoon to see both performances.

Remember

Living with a cemetary in our backyard, Memorial Day can really be seen. So many people come to decorate the graves of their loved ones. It really is beautiful, and I think pretty amazing how much respect is shown to those who have passed on. We had another family get together tonight. Here are the kids playing out on the tramp. I was going to get some yard work done today, but it rained most of the day. I guess there is always tomorrow!

Stolen Moment

I had to steal this photo from Eliza's blog and post it on mine as well. We had a family birthday party last night for Grandpa Kindrick and Eliza captured this sweet picture of Windsor and Mia. Just look at little Windsor's legs straddling the pole. Priceless. So cute I had to share as well. Thanks, Eliza. For a detailed account of the party check out Eliza's blog.

last night's events

Last night was Elizabeth's Presch00l Graduation Program. I am sure it is the first of many graduations to come. These days there seems to be a graduation program every year. I guess we are to celebrate every step they accomplish. They sang a lot of songs they have learned. Elizabeth has enjoyed attending preschool, and is looking forward to starting kindergarten in the fall.

Of course last night was also the finals for American Idol. Who else really liked Bryan Adams? I forgot how fun those songs were. My kids were dancing around the room. As for the results, we were a bit surprised, but really like David Cook and David A. So it really was a win win for me. My kids on the other hand were for David A. all the way. I guess Luke's 30+ calls for David A. were not enough to give him the title. Kennedy cried herself to sleep last night.

So you think you can dance?

Tonight was Kennedy and Elizabeth's dance recital. These things are pretty crazy. Of course the girls looked really cute. Here they are all ready before the recital started.
They each danced two dances. Kennedy's first dance was her tap number to "A Spoon Full of Sugar". Her Second number was ballet to "Beauty and the Beast", I missed the beginning.

I was a "helping Mom" for Elizabeth's class. This means I had to sit with the kids in her class before they performed. Then help them get back stage and all set up for their dance. Elizabeth's class had a few props for their dances which made it a little difficult. So we get them lined up then rush out to watch them perform. Both of her dances were ballet. Her first was "Going to the Chapel". They had to wear veils and hold little bouquets of flowers.

After the first dance was done, we had to quickly get the girls ready for dance number two. When I say quick, I mean quick. Usually there is another dance in between each classes numbers, but Elizabeth's were one after another. So we had to gather veils and bouquets, and distribute buckets and get them lined up for the next dance in a matter of a minute. Needless to say, the music started, and they weren't lined up and ready. I only caught part of this dance, and you can't really see Elizabeth very well anyway. Oh well. It is all done and I am greatful for that!

We ended the evening with a trip to Wendy's for some treats.

Where is David and Mia, you ask? I had David stay home with Mia because she was really cranky. These recitals are long enough without dealing with a tired two year old.

And speaking of "So you think you can dance?", it starts this week. We like that show.

All of us girls went and got our haircut yesterday. Kennedy decided she wanted to cut her hair short. I think she looks really cute!

I Love you. ..

Thanks for being my life, and filling it with love.

My Mom

I'm a day late, but I had a desire to have a post dedicated to my Mom. She is an amazing woman with so much strength and compassion for others. She is always spending time to help out her children with what ever they had a need for. She loves her Grandchildren, and travels all over to see them, go to their games, baptisms, recitals, births, blessings, etc. You name it, she tries to be there. She is a great friend to me. I know I can count on her for words of encouragement when I am down, and understanding when I need someone to complain to about anything. I love you Mom, hope you had a great day yesterday. Wish we could get together for lunch today! The Trolley is calling out to me. .. .

Member Missionaries

We had a primary activity this morning. It was a Missionary Training Center. All the kids got mission calls in the mail before hand. We had several different "MTC Trainers" teach little mini classes. It turned out really well. As they left, they received some mini m&m's that said "Mini Member Missionary" Hopefully it helped the kids to have a desire to serve a mission one day.

15 Years

No, I haven't put this picture up because I am proud of it. It is just a reminder to myself to be greatful for each and every day. 15 years ago today, I walked out of the hospital from my last chemo treatment. I am greatful for 15 years of health and happiness. I am greatful for hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes. I am greatful for skin color ( look how white I am in the picture!). I am greatful for a wonderful family who loves and supports me. I am greatful to have four wonderful children and a great husband who love me. I am greatful for lessons learned during a difficult time in life. I learned that there is always someone out there that is worse off than you. I remember going into the hospital for treatments and being greatful, because each and every time I would meet some young child who had been in and out of the hospital their whole life. I was greatful at the time for 18 years of health before the cancer. I am greatful for the growth of my testimony during this time, Heavenly Father does watch out for us and is aware of everything we go through. I need to remember this. Sometimes regular life gets so crazy that I forget. It is just good for me to stop, pause, and realize everything I have. What are you greatful for?
