2nd Grade Talent Show

Kennedy wanted to perform at the talent show so here is her singing debut! The shaky camera is me fidgiting with Mia on my lap while trying to film. I was proud of her having the courage to get up there and do it.

Mia and Elizabeth have heard the song so much, they know it as well. Of course they froze up as soon as I pulled out the camera, but these are the pieces I was able to get. We have heard "Tomorrow" around our house quite a bit lately.

Wax Museum

The fifth grade took on a big project this year. They call it the wax museum. Each student picked some one from US history, wrote a report, made a poster, and then today had to dress as them. They have to stand there all day as students and parents come around and when you push their button, give a short speach about their person. Luke's class did the Revolutionary War. He is Benedict Arnold. I didn't get his whole speach, and you can't hear it very well. But here it is. . .

Events

Not a lot going on this week. Luke finished up his basketball season on Saturday with a hard loss. He was upset, because his team only won two games this year. We tried to console him by letting him pick out some ice cream at the store.
We also had our Blue and Gold Banquet for cub scouts this week. I don't know if I would really call it a "banquet". They served hot dogs! This kids liked it, though. The dragon is a little parade the boys did.

Olympic Penninsula

I returned late last night from my getaway weekend in Seattle. I had a great time. On Saturday, my Mom and I took an excursion to the Olympic Penninsula. I have never really been there in all my years living in Seattle. It was GORGEOUS!
We Started by taking the Edmonds ferry to Kingston.
We drove over the Hood Canal floating bridge.
We stopped in Port Townsend and browsed around all the cute shops. This was a fun town and we wished we had more time here, as we did everywhere.
We Stopped in Port Angeles for a late lunch/early dinner. We had some delicious salads and soup. Port Angeles wasn't nearly as cute as Port Townsend, but it was on my agenda of stops for the day! We ate at a seafood restaurant down by the water.
Driving around Lake Crescent took quite a while. It was beautiful. We were fighting the sun going down by this time. I was determined to get to Forks. We were laughing at ourselves tromping down the highway to get pictures by the sign.
It was pretty much dark by the time we got to La Push and tried to get a photo of the beach. It looked like it would be beautiful, though. I would have liked to take the trail down to the beach. It was too dark by this point, though.
We had a great time, but wished we planned the timing better. It was so dark by the time we got to Forks and La Push, that we couldn't really see much. A long way to drive, but I don't regret it! We finished the evening off by meeting Becky for some late dessert.

Cold Stone

The picture should say it all! David and I were able to sneak out for a quick treat last night for Valentine's Day. I didn't have my camera with me, but this picture is pretty close. YUMMY!

Daytime Entertainment

Elizabeth and Mia are on this kick of wanting to wear their swimming suits during day. Never mind that it is freezing out. They strip down and pull out their suits. So they have been taking their baths with their suits on. . . I cave in because I am always looking for something to entertain them during the day and this fills a good 45 minutes of time.

Tagged!

this picture is the spring of 1994. My hair was growing in curly after being bald the year before.
  • How long have you been together? 14 years since we started dating. we celebrate our 13th anniversary in May
  • How long did you date? Just over a year.

  • How old is he? 36. .. 37 in March
  • Who eats more? David does, but I have been known to hold my own.
  • Who said "I love you" first? I can't remember, isn't that sad?
  • Who is taller? He is, but only by about 3 inches. He's 5'7''
  • Who is smarter? Pretty close, but since he teaches daily, he retains a lot more knowledge than I do.
  • Who does the laundry? I do, he will on occasion.
  • Who does the dishes? I usually do. He will help clean up the kitchen, but often just rinses the dishes and doesn't complete them!

  • Who pays the bills? I do
  • Who mows the lawn? We both do. When his allergies are really bad, I will do it. But I make him do the edging. That thing scares me for some reason. I am hoping that Luke is now old enough to start doing it this summer

  • Who proposed? He did. We were at the Bountiful Temple open house. A lot of people around, too. He actually got down on his knees!
  • Who is more sensitive? Definitely me. I started crying during American Idol last week. . .not proud of that fact. But deep down he is more sensitive than he lets off.
  • Who has more friends? not sure about this one.
  • Who has more siblings? me, by one. He has three brothers. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother.
  • Who wears the pants in the relationship? I love Shannon's quote on this one.. .but we are really equal. we value each others opinions and are able to share them.

I don't love this picture. but we tend to not have many pictures of the two of us together.

Is it over yet?

Just had to complain a little about winter. It is snowing AGAIN today. I should be greatful for the moisture, but I am tired of shoveling, tired of driving on ice and snow, and tired of the cold. Bring on Spring!
