It has been a while since I have shown this smiling face. . . .

Mia had a great day at preschool today! I went to pick her up, and her teacher informed me that Mia shared her letter sounds with her today!! Anyone that knows Mia, knows that this is a BIG deal. She didn't talk. . . but any progress is HUGE! We have to celebrate every baby step on the way. . . I also wanted to share Mia's latest masterpiece. I love it when kids first start making people. I find little drawings all over the house. Sadly, I have to throw them away. . . .but this is so I remember down the road how cute her drawing or our family is!
Last night I was able to go hear Author, Richard Peck, speak at the Provo library with some friends from our book club. The picture of him is not great, but I found him incredibly entertaining.
"I read because one life isn't enough, and in the page of a book I can be anybody;
I read because the words that build the story become mine, to build my life;
I read not for happy endings but for new beginnings; I'm just beginning myself, and I wouldn't mind a map;
I read because I have friends who don't, and young though they are, they're beginning to run out of material;
I read because every journey begins at the library, and it's time for me to start packing;
I read because one of these days I'm going to get out of this town, and I'm going to go everywhere and meet everybody, and I want to be ready."
These are two books that he has written. Very cute, funny, entertaining, quick and definitely worth the read. They are both Newberry award winners.
As great as the talk was, what I really enjoyed was visiting and eating with friends afterwards. . . . I had told David I would be home by nine, but didn't roll in until close to eleven!!

WOw, how cool. You must have an awesome library. That is so fun that you got to go with girls from your book club & hang out afterwards. Good for you for taking time for yourself.

Love the picture of Mia, she is so adorable! It will be interesting to see as she grows up if she stays quiet or turns into a chatter box, time will tell. And a girls night out, that's always fun. I don't get too many of those, I get a day out by myself to Costco, not all that fun.

I LOVE Mia's family picture! I miss seeing her cute face since we stopped doing 365. And your night out sounds awesome! The local book shop occasionally has authors visit; I may have to copy your girls night with our book club...

All of us girls need a night out once in a while. The library trip sounds like fun. And, Mia has a dazzling smile, as usual.
