Remember

Living with a cemetary in our backyard, Memorial Day can really be seen. So many people come to decorate the graves of their loved ones. It really is beautiful, and I think pretty amazing how much respect is shown to those who have passed on. We had another family get together tonight. Here are the kids playing out on the tramp. I was going to get some yard work done today, but it rained most of the day. I guess there is always tomorrow!

you're lucky to have family so close! Wish we still lived close enough so we could be together for holidays.

All the flowers are really pretty.

What great pics for Memorial Day! We did a little FHE about it last night, but I was wishing we were in Seattle to visit the military section at Evergreen Washelli. That is always a sight to see, with all of the flags and flowers.
It looks like the kids had fun, rain or shine!

It's nice that your kids get to see that remembering our loved ones who have gone on is important.

And I agree there is ALWAYS tomorrow when there is yard work! :)

When I was young, Memorial Day was always a big deal. My Mom and her helpers spent lots of time getting all the flowers together to take to the cemetery. I remember many times driving with Mom down to Spring city to put flowers on her relatives graves there. I'm sorry as my kids grew up that we didn't have any family buried close by so we could go to the cemetery.

I love that picture of the cemetary. I so wanted to go to the cemetery while in Seattle, but didn't make it. This makes me feel like I got a little glimpse of what I would have seen there. Thanks for sharing this & reminding us all who we have to be thankful for.
